
Funding priorities, survey results discussed at public forum
Las Cruces Public Schools will host a Budget Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, May 7 at 5:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex. Led by Chenyu “Alex” Liu, Deputy Superintendent of Finance, Procurement, and Budget and Matthew Saenz, Director of Budget Analysis and Development, the meeting includes a presentation and discussion of the proposed FY 2025-2026 budget for LCPS.
The May 7 event is the final in a series of Budget Town Hall meetings during this budget cycle to provide transparency and demonstrate fiscal responsibility to community stakeholders. The cycle includes collaboration by the Budget Survey Committee, a group of teachers, administrators, community members and staff who collected feedback on budget priorities using a public budget survey.
