Funding priorities, survey results discussed at public forum
Las Cruces Public Schools will host the next Budget Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, March 26 at 5:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex.
Led by the Finance Division, the meeting includes an overview of the upcoming fiscal year budget, followed by an update on the budget survey, a public input process that was overseen by the Budget Survey Committee. The committee included teachers, administrators, community members and staff and asked community stakeholders to provide feedback on what they felt should be funding priorities in the district. Survey responses were collected between December 2024 and Jan. 31, 2025. Both the quantitative and qualitative data will be shared.
The public is invited to attend the March 26 meeting in person or view it online using this link. The meeting is in advance of the Finance Division’s presentation of a proposed district budget for consideration and adoption by the LCPS Board of Education.
There will be an additional Budget Town Hall meeting open to the public on May 7, also in the boardroom at the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex at 5:30.
