Dripping Springs Guided Hike
Saturday, January 25th, 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Join BLM Archaeologist, Garrett Leitermann, for a hike that will have you stepping into the past at the Dripping Springs Natural Area. Come learn about the history of our area, the life and achievements of Colonel Eugene Van Patten, and how Dripping Springs grew to become a popular getaway and health resort for those seeking “the mountain cure”.
Prospective attendees for the hike should meet in front of Dripping Springs Natural Area’s Visitor Center. Remember to dress appropriately for the weather and bring water, snacks, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and good hiking shoes. The hike will be approximately 2.5 hours and is a little less than 3 miles round trip. The hike will stay on established trails. There is a $5 day use fee for visiting Dripping Springs Natural Area. Dogs are not allowed on the hike.
