LAS CRUCES, NM– A total of thirty-eight major-party candidates submitted their declarations to run for their respective offices for the 2024 Primary Election on Tuesday, March 12th, at the Doña Ana County Government Center. As per NM Stat 1-8-26, declarations of candidacy for any office up for nomination in the primary election, other than those declared by preprimary convention designation, must be filed with the appropriate filing officer on the second Tuesday of March in every even-numbered year between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Candidates who filed at the Doña Ana County Clerk’s office included individuals running for non-federal, statewide, and countywide positions. The following positions were eligible to file in Doña Ana County.

Candidates who filed will be notified in writing that they have qualified to be on the ballot by March 19th. NM Stat 1-8-26 (D) requires these qualification letters to be mailed no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Tuesday following the filing date.
