Unemployed, Businesses to get Federal Relief in New Mexico

The unemployed, small businesses and non profits are set to receive federal COVID-19 relief funds in New Mexico. State lawmakers approved the plan in a special session yesterday. HB-1 establishes how over three-hundred-million dollars in federal CARES Act money will be used. Most of New Mexico’s unemployed will get a one time distribution of 12-hundred dollars by mid December. Businesses hard hit by New Mexico’s COVID-19 shutdown orders can apply for grants. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is expected to sign HB-1 sometime today.
