Teen Murder Suspect Might Be Tried As Adult

Prosecuting attorneys say they think a teenager facing murder charges should be tried as an adult.  The petition was made Tuesday in a court hearing.  Last Thursday, 14-year-old Jevyn Steadman turned himself in after shooting his cousin, 29-year-old Lawrence Howard, in the head at Steadman’s father’s home near San Pedro Drive. There is no word on when the judge will decide the matter.  The judge did honor Steadman’s father’s recommendation to keep the boy in custody.
