Seven-Point-Six Billion Dollar Spending Bill Heads To House

A seven-point-six-billion dollar package that would fund teacher pay raises, road repairs and a new childhood trust fund is on its way to the New Mexico Senate.  The House passed the bill yesterday, with voting falling along party lines.  The bill represents a seven-and-a-half-percent increase over current levels.  Republicans wanted an alternative spending plan that included a lower amount of recurring spending.
