School lunches to increase slightly

School starts again next Monday and parents should be aware that meal prices will slightly increase. Elementary School lunches will see an increase of five cents per meal. Middle school lunches will increase of 15 cents and high school lunch will also increase by five cents. Students who receive discounted lunch prices will see no changes in their meal prices. Nancy Cathey, LCPS executive director of operations and nutrition services, said the price increases for regular-priced meals are part of LCPS’ compliance with the USDA’s regulations that require school districts to charge students as much for a lunch as the district receives for a student who receives free meals.
