Judge Green Lights Las Cruces School Board Election Recall

A judge is giving a thumbs up to a Las Cruces school board election recall effort.

District Judge James Martin made a decision yesterday afternoon that allows for the inclusion in the case for the recall of the possible removal of three board members. Based on evidence presented in court by a group called Enough, represented by attorney CaraLyn Banks, Martin found probable cause to believe the school board violated New Mexico’s Open Meetings Act and Inspection of Public Records Act. Late last night, the school board issued a statement promising it will appeal Judge Martin’s ruling.
