Hundreds Gather at State Capital to Protest Gun Ownership Restrictions

Gun owners are making their views known at a rally to defend second amendment rights in Santa Fe.

On Friday, more than five-hundred people showed up to protest Senate Bill 5 which is under consideration by state lawmakers. If passed, the gun removal bill is expected to be signed into law by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham who says the red flag measure will save lives. SB 5 allows a judge to order the removal of firearms from any person who is perceived by someone else to be a threat to themselves or to others. The protesters presented a petition to the governor’s office requesting she not sign SB 5.
