Highest Increase in Homelessness Last Year Was in New Mexico

A new Housing and Urban Development report says the greatest increase in homelessness last year happened in New Mexico. The HUD report published this month shows there was a 27-percent increase of reported cases of homelessness in New Mexico for 2019. Chronic homelessness defined in the report as those who are homeless for more than a year was also up by 57-percent in New Mexico in 2019.
