FBI Wants Couy Griffin Held Without Bond

Federal authorities are requesting that Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin be held without bond pending trial. Griffin, also the Cowboys for Trump president, was arrested in Washington D.C. in connection with the U.S. Capitol riots earlier this month. An 11-page motion filed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia says Griffin bragged about trying to prevent the Biden presidency even by violent means. Griffin has a criminal history including prior arrests and DUI convictions. It isn’t known when the court will rule on the request.
