Area Members of Congress Vote Along Party Lines in President Trump Impeachment

Members of Congress from the region voted along party lines on whether President Trump should be impeached a second time. New Mexico’s Republican House member Yvette Herrell opposed the impeachment in Congress yesterday. El Paso’s representative in Congress, Democrat Veronica Escobar, voted with the majority to impeach Trump, who becomes the first president to be impeached twice. The measure now goes to the Senate, where leaders say it won’t be taken up until next week.
