4 New Mexico Teachers Receive Presidential Award

Four teachers from New Mexico are among the recipients of a presidential award for teaching excellence.

Yesterday, President Trump announced the recipients from around the country of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. The educators from New Mexico to receive the award are Krystal Irby from Next Gen Academy in Albuquerque, Cindy Lee from Snell Middle School in Bayard, Erin Mayer from Janet Kahn School of Integrated Arts in Albuquerque and Eric Schultz from Sixth Grade Academy in Pojoaque. The award dates to 1983 and is the highest given by the U.S. government to STEM educators.
